What are straws made of ?
Straws are made from natural and sustainable resources : of corn starch according to local availability. We only work with producers in the Hauts-de-France region and therefore ensure traceability of our products while minimizing our carbon footprint.
Straws are certified
Our products patented by our Strawbio are currently TÜV certified.
This progress allows to certify products in total coherence with the ecological and sustainable challenges of tomorrow.
Our straws are currently certified by the organization APESA ( revelator of sustainable solutions) as a compostable and 100% biodegradable product

Straws are ideal
Thanks to our manufacturing process, we transform corn and potato starch into a solid straw that in no way softens in cold drinks. With our short production cycle, we have the smallest impact on the environement.

The straws are made from a BIO-Plastic based on corn starch.
A biodegradable and compostable straw means that several tests are carried out in order to obtain their certification. Indeed, the TÜV makes it possible to obtain a certain credibility on a product. TÜV AUSTRIA offers environmental marks or label of conformity of unique products which offers a certification adapted to the various environments of biodegradation. In order to obtain the certification, the product must comply with the standards :
France: NF T 51800 (2015) – Plastiques — Spécifications pour les plastiques aptes au compostage domestique
Europe: prEN 17427 (2020) - Packaging — Requirements and test scheme for carrier bags suitable for treatment in well-managed home composting installations
It should be remembered that plastic straws are almost not recyclable , and that they often end up in our oceans or in nature. France has taken the lead in banning them since January 1, 2020.
Strabio offers a solution that works and is sustainable, thanks to short circuit production from extraction of raw materials, transport, the manufacture of the straw itself, then its destruction (composting or industrial recycling), We ensure to minimize the carbon footprint and do our best to be 100% green.
